A Music School Where Students Grow in Skill, Confidence, and Faith
At Bethany Music Center, we provide personalized music education for children, teens, and adults in a supportive, Christ-centered community. Our experienced teachers help every student build musical skill, grow in confidence, and discover the joy and purpose of music.

A Music School Where Students Grow in Skill, Confidence, and Faith
A Community, Not a “Lesson Factory”
We are not a box store selling lessons. We are a community of musicians who are deeply invested in the growth of our students and our teaching staff. Relationships matter here, and every student is known, encouraged, and supported.
Music Education That Is Accessible to All
We believe music lessons should be available to everyone in our community. Each year, we offer a limited number of partial and full scholarships to help make high-quality music education accessible regardless of income.
Real-World Musical Skills
We Value and Invest in Our Teachers
Our teachers are highly trained professionals, and we honor their expertise by providing compensation that reflects their education and experience. When teachers are supported, students receive the highest level of instruction.
More Than Private Lessons
We enrich our students’ learning with workshops, group classes, and performance opportunities—many offered free to our private lesson students and at a reasonable cost to the broader community.
Why Parents Choose BMC: A Place Where Young Musicians Thrive
We believe every child can learn and enjoy music when they are supported, encouraged, and challenged in the right way. Our private lessons help students:
In our positive, faith-based environment, students are known, valued, and encouraged to grow both musically and personally.

Meet our Director
Rev. Dr. Sherrie McKay is the Director of Bethany Music Center and the Associate Pastor of Worship & Arts at Bethany Church. Sherrie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Music from Eastern Nazarene College and a Master of Arts in Church Music from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sherrie also holds a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary where she wrote her dissertation entitled “Multicultural Worship Arts Ministry: Transitioning from Monocultural Worship to a Multi-Ethnic Worshiping Community.” Since joining Bethany in 1993, Sherrie has led the music program to become one of the premier worship arts ministries in the Howard County area. As Director of BMC, Sherrie brings a unique vision and leadership style cultivating an environment for students to grow as musicians, and if they choose, to equip students to participate in music ministry at their local church or in a para church organization.
