BMC Lesson Policies
Like a recurring weekly appointment, students are required to attend lessons weekly at their assigned time. Frequent absence or tardiness will be cause for termination of lessons.
Lessons and Behavior:
Students are encouraged to be on time for lessons. Be sure to use the restroom and wash hands before the lesson begins. Students are expected to listen to the teacher, be respectful and follow directions. Please bring all appropriate materials to each lesson.
Practice between lessons is required.
Students are allowed one make-up lesson per semester. To be eligible for a make-up lesson, the teacher must be notified of the upcoming absence 2 days in advance. To be eligible for a make-up lesson in the case of illness, notify the teacher by email or phone message by 10 AM the day of the lesson. Sick children are encouraged to stay home.
If the teacher must miss a lesson, it will either be made up at a mutually agreed upon time, or payment for that lesson will be credited toward the next month.
Bethany Music Center follows the Howard County School System weather closings. Up to 2 lessons missed due to inclement weather will either be made up or credited towards the next month’s tuition. After the first two lessons missed because of weather related closings, lessons will not be made up or credited. Tuition will still be due.
Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month. Payments are made to Bethany Church and may be paid in the following ways:
- Check or cash in marked envelope with student’s name, type of lesson and teacher (envelope given to the teacher at lesson time). There is a $50 fee for checks that are returned.
- On Line Payment made at BethanyMusicCenter.com
Payments for Private Lessons must be paid through these two methods. As of Oc. 1, no other methods of payment will be accepted.
Termination of Lessons:
Lessons may be terminated by either other teacher or the parent. 14 days’ notice is to be given by either party.
